This annual award is designed to recognize the outstanding skills and contributions of individual Wisconsin home care nurses who are the heart of patient care. Recognizing an individual nurse allows WiAHC to honor nurses and their profession.

Do you know a home care nurse who exhibits the characteristics below? If so, submit a nomination today! 

  • Quality care using  evidence based practice (improving patient outcomes)
  • Compassion using empathy when working with patients and families
  • Accountability towards life-long learning
  • Demonstrates a culture of patient safety within their practice
  • Demonstrates professionalism through collaboration with the health team

The winner will receive an award and gifts, a value of $500. The winner and nominees will also be recognized at the 2018 Spring Conference.

WiAHC Hosts Home Visit with Representative Dave Considine

WiAHC member Recover Health recently hosted two home visits on March 27, 2018 with State Representative Dave Considine of the 81st Assembly District. Darla Thompson, Director of Recover Health’s Complex Skilled Hourly Nursing Services guided Representative Considine in meeting with a pediatric patient and his nurses in a home in Deerfield, Wisconsin and a pediatric patient and her family in Madison, Wisconsin.

A New Resource to Combat Clinician Burnout

The National Academy of Medicine has created a Clinician Well-Being Knowledge Hub, intended as a comprehensive repository to provide clinicians and health system professionals with resources to battle clinician burnout, a common problem in the health care industry.
