Sue Dobson, of Spooner Health System Homecare, was honored with the 2017 Wisconsin Association for Home Health Care’s (WiAHC) Leadership Award at the annual Fall Conference in Brookfield, WI on November 2. The award recognizes professionals who make extraordinary contributions to Wisconsin home care and is presented annually to a WiAHC member or partner. Recognizing members or partners allows WiAHC to honor home care professionals and their profession. Candidates for the award are individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary service and contributions to Wisconsin home care.

Dobson currently serves as the Client Accounts Representative at Spooner Health System Homecare in Spooner, Wisconsin. Dobson has been an active member and leader in the association and Wisconsin’s home care industry for many years. Her keen knowledge of the billing and coding process for home care, partnered with her work on the WiAHC Billing Committee has proven invaluable for WiAHC and its members. Dobson has also served on the WiAHC Board of Directors.

Below are quotes describing Dobson from WiAHC members:

“She is a natural leader. She is collaborative, a listener, innovative, and kind. She is completely accessible to anyone, and is often the ‘go to’ for many of my questions.”

“She has been a driving force in much work accomplished by the WiAHC Board and the Billing Committee in my work with her in both groups. She is inspiring and gets others to help because she is so willing to work on ideas herself.”

“When we think about home care we tend to focus on the care that agencies provide to the patients they serve. However, I think we all know that if we didn’t get paid for the care we provide none of us would exist. She helps to make sure that not only her agency gets paid, but that all agencies in WiAHC understand the nuts and bolts of billing. She readily shares her knowledge to peers and has been key in building a strong resource within WiAHC through the Billing Committee.”

Congratulations, Sue!
