Announcing the Finalists for the Wisconsin Home Care Nurse of the Year Award

Colleagues, leaders, patients, and their families were invited to nominate a home care nurse for the “Wisconsin Home Care Nurse of the Year Award”. The award recognizes the accomplishments of an individual nurse and provides a way to celebrate the work of home care nurses in Wisconsin.

 

Each of the finalists represent the following characteristics of excellence in home care nursing:


• Quality care using evidence based practice (improving patient outcomes)
• Compassion using empathy when working with patients and families
• Accountability towards life-long learning
• Demonstrate a culture of patient safety within their practice
• Demonstrate professionalism through collaboration with the health team

• Loretta Melbostad, Adoray Home Health and Hospice
• Jenni Resh, Affinity Visiting Nurses/Ascension Health at Home
• Jessica Shanks, Recover Health
• PatTrapp, Hillside Home Care/Hospice

The award winner will be announced and the finalists honored at the WiAHC Spring Conference. A special award will be presented to the winner during the Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 7, 2018.
